Kidman Resources, Tesla strike lithium offtake deal
Electric car giant Tesla — the company that inspired a thousand lithium start-ups — has struck its first ever offtake deal with an Australian lithium play in a landmark development for the booming sector.
Melbourne-based Kidman Resources yesterday revealed it had secured what had long been regarded as the holy grail of lithium offtakes, snaring Tesla as a foundation customer for its proposed lithium hydroxide processing plant south of Perth.
